Why did you choose to apply to SMS and your practice?
It was an exciting prospect to be a part of a rapidly expanding organisation where I would be given the opportunity to explore new challenges and expand my knowledge across a variety of skills and technologies. SMS have a true blend of talented, hard working, experienced and fun loving professionals with a highly focused work culture. I am glad to be part of such an enthusiastic group of consultants.
I chose the Information & Data Management Practice to help me strengthen my expertise in my field of interest, and through a range of training and development opportunities, achieve my longer term career goals.
How would you describe the work you do in not so technical terms?
A lot of my work involves evaluating a client’s business needs and gaining an understanding of their business processes and practices.
There is often the need to research complex client issues and provide troubleshooting, alternatives and recommendations to ensure their requirements are met. There is also the need to design and develop proactive business solutions and improvement plans, which can be quite exciting and engaging.
What has been the most interesting project you have been involved in?
At the moment I am working with a large Financial Services client as part of a team of 4. I’ve been on this project for over 6 months now and whilst being responsible for managing client issues and concerns, have learned a lot of potential problems and solutions that I can take with me on future client engagements.
