Position Description |
SMS are currently delivering innovative and exciting solutions using the latest Java and web technologies including Silverlight and leading javascript frameworks like AJAX.NET and jQuery. On SMS projects, we utilise the latest agile practices and modern development techniques including iterative development, colourful storyboards, TDD, standups, burndown charts, continuous integration and fun estimation games to ensure that we deliver high quality software to our clients.
Successful candidates in this permanent role will possess extensive experience in analysis, design, development and testing of enterprise-grade Java/J2EE applications, including sound technical skills in a number of the following technologies:
- Java/J2EE, HTML, JavaScript
- Object oriented design and development
- Web Services (e.g. SOAP)
- Database design (e.g. Oracle PL/SQL and Stored Procedures; or strong SQL Server)
- Exposure to a range of Java Application Servers (e.g. WebSphere, Weblogic, JBoss etc)
- Experience using standard software development tools (e.g. Ant/Maven, CVS, Subversion, Trac/Jira/Bugzilla, IDEs etc)
- Development best practices (design patterns, test driven development, continuous integration)
- Spring, Struts, Hibernate (highly regarded)
